Project Description:

“The Pink Pop-Up Material Library by MATTERIALISTA is a travelling installation that showcases the aesthetic and technical potential of circular and sustainable materials for interior architecture.”

Presented at three major design events in Berlin for interior architects and designers, the installation challenges the persistent myth that sustainable materials are limited to neutral, beige, or “eco-looking” palettes.

Designed as a modular pink scaffold structure using System180, the pop-up library displays a curated selection of healthy, circular, and responsibly sourced materials mounted on surfaces made from POLYGOOD recycled plastic panels. Each material sample explores innovative textures, applications, and vibrant shades of pink, demonstrating that circular materials can be bold, trend-driven, and visually striking while meeting high sustainability standards.

The installation is part of MATTERIALISTA’s mission to build a pioneering material library for circular and sustainable interior design, supporting architects and designers in specifying low-impact, healthy, and future-ready materials. By combining colour, texture, and storytelling, the Pink Pop-Up Material Library sparks curiosity and opens conversations about the barriers that still prevent wider adoption of circular materials in interior architecture.
